description

The Bründlkapelle next to the church

The church is oriented to the north. The sturdy church tower with an onion helmet is located in the northern part of the church and bears a bell cast by Anton Weyer in 1720 . Somewhat below the church is the so-called "Bründlkapelle" with a roughly worked stone group from the first quarter of the 18th century, which shows the mercy seat .

The nave has three bays . It is spanned by a groin vault resting on belts . The simple wall pilasters have cornice capitals . The wooden gallery is in the western part of the nave.

The high altar was erected in the second quarter of the 18th century and comes from the workshop of Balthasar Prandtstätter . The pulpit was erected around 1700. The positive organ dates from 1780, the offering box from 1715. To the left of the high altar is a late Gothic statue of St. Sebastian from around 1500, which was later carved over. There are also some baroque statues in the church. A marble relief , which probably comes from the construction period, shows a representation of purgatory . A picture showing the origins of the pilgrimage was painted in 1713.

legend

According to a legend, a blind woman once traveled to the spring near the church, which was said to have a healing effect on eye ailments. She prayed at the spring, wetting her eyes with the spring water. When she got up from her prayer, she could see again.
