Sass Jordan

Sass Jordan (born December 23, 1962 in Birmingham , Great Britain ) is a Canadian rock and hard rock singer. She is influenced by Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones . Jordan is the winner of the Canadian music prize Juno Award and, together with the musician Brian Tichy, founder of the band SUN (Something Unto Nothing).

biography

Sarah Jordan released her debut album Tell Somebody under her stage name Sass Jordan in 1988 and won the Juno Award in the category “Most Promising Female Vocalist of the Year” the following year. Her most commercially successful album, Racine, was released in 1992. In the same year she was a duet partner of Joe Cocker , with whom she recorded the song Trust in Me for the soundtrack of the film Bodyguard . In addition to her own albums, Jordan also worked with other artists, including the Jeff Healey Band (1990), Jude Cole (1992), Stevie Salas (1995 & 2007) and Nikolo Kotzev (2001), and she also participated the metal -opera Days of Rising Doom - the Metal Opera of Aina . As a songwriter , she mainly worked for Mariah Carey's albums Butterfly (1997) and The Adventures of Mimi (2007). Her last album so far as a solo artist was released in 2010 under the title From Dusk 'Til Dawn .

In 2011 Jordan formed the band SUN (Something Unto Nothing) with Brian Tichy, who was drummer for Whitesnake at the time . The group was completed by Michael Devin (bass) and Tommy Stewart (drums), Tichy plays guitar in this band. The group's debut album was released in 2012, an EP ( Nomad ) followed in spring 2014.
