SUN (Something Unto Nothing) is the name of a four-piece American hard rock band founded in 2011 .

background

The group was founded by Canadian singer Sass Jordan and Brian Tichy . Jordan had won the Juno Award in 1989 in the “Most Promising Female Vocalist of the Year” category and was then nominated three times in the “Female Vocalist of the Year” category, but could not win the award again. Tichy can look back on a successful career as a drummer ( e.g. for Whitesnake , Ozzy Osbourne and Foreigner ) and was also a songwriter, e. Successful for Billy Idol , Derek Sherinian and various US TV series (CSI, Law & Order ). Tichy works as a guitarist at SUN.

Other founding members of the group were bassist Michael Devin ( Lynch Mob , Whitesnake) and drummer Tommy Stewart (Fuel, Everclear ). The group retired to a hut for two weeks to write songs. Their debut album Something Unto Nothing , produced by Tichy and Jordan , was released by the band on November 20, 2012. In April 2014, the EP Nomad was released, which, in addition to the theme song, contained two cover versions ( Hey Hey My My by Neil Young and Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney ) and a new title ( Going Going Gone ). At the time of release, the group was working on songs for their second studio album.
