Stevie Salas
Stevie Salas (born November 17, 1962 ) is an American guitarist who played for many well-known musicians, such as B. Rod Stewart , George Clinton , Bootsy Collins , TM Stevens , Sass Jordan , Ronald Shannon Jackson, and Justin Timberlake . Today, however, he is a solo artist, music director at “American Idol” and has his own app “Rockstar Solos”. In 2007 he released his first best-of record, The sun and the earth , which reflects his previous solo career.
Stevie Salas, a Mescalero - Apache , lives in Carlsbad , California , where he grew up.
In September 2014 Stevie Salas published his book When we were the boys , in which he tells about his entry and ascent into the world of rock music.
Equipment
Salas very often plays a green Custom made Caparison at his concerts . Occasionally he also plays guitars from Billytone, G&L , Italia Guitars or FGN Guitars. He uses Hayden and Marshall amplifiers . As a distortion he uses the models MXR Distortion III and MXR GT-OD.
In 2014 the “Idolmaker” model from the German manufacturer Framus came onto the market, which was developed in close cooperation with Salas. One version of the model bears his name.
