The RoPax ferry Finntrader of the Swedish shipping company Nordö-Link is used on the Lübeck-Travemünde - Malmö route. Nordö-Link is a 100% subsidiary of Finnlines OY, Helsinki.
history
The Finntrader was built under construction number B501 / I / 4 at the Stocznia Gdanska SA shipyard in Gdansk . The keel was laid on July 26, 1994, the launch on April 7, 1995. The ship was completed on October 1, 1995 and handed over to Finncarriers AB in Helsinki on October 26 . The ship built with ice class 1A Super started sailing under the Finnish flag with home port Helsinki.
The ship was used from November 3, 1995 between Lübeck ( Nordlandkai ) and Helsinki. The solemn baptism took place on December 1st, 1995 in Helsinki, godmother was Mrs. Elisa Lagerroos.
In 2000 the Finntrader was registered for Finnlines OY, Helsinki, and moved from Nordlandkai in Lübeck to Skandinavienkai in Travemünde . The travel time to Helsinki was shortened by two hours.
On March 8, 2004, the Finntrader was registered with the shipping company Oy Hanseatic Shipping AB in Helsinki, but kept the route and home port. On August 4, 2006 the Finntrader left Helsinki for the last time with destination Travemünde, where she arrived on August 6, 2006.
On August 8th the charter took place by bareboat charter to Finnlines Shipmanagement AB based in Malmö. During maintenance work on the Remontowa shipyard in Gdańsk, the passenger capacity was increased and a bow hatch was installed. Since February 19, 2007, the Finntrader has been operating under the Swedish flag from Nordö-Link between Malmö and Travemünde, her new home port is Malmö.
