Finsternheim is a district of the local community Bundenthal in the district of Südwestpfalz in Rhineland-Palatinate . Until 1834 it was an independent municipality.

history

Until 1797 Finsternheim belonged to the Vogtei Schlettenbach . This in turn was part of the Weissenburg Provostry . From 1798 to 1814 the place was part of the First French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the First French Empire . In 1834 the place was finally incorporated into Bundenthal. From 1969 to 1989 he was part of the local community of Wieslautern together with Bundenthal and Bruchweiler-Bärenbach . In the meantime, Finsternheim is no longer perceived as an independent settlement.
