Fiona Shackleton, Baroness Shackleton of Belgravia , LVO (* 26. May 1956 in London ) is a British lawyer (in the UK and Solicitor called), this is what famous celebrities (including Paul McCartney ), Madonna or members of the British royal family to represented.

biography

Shackleton is the daughter of Jonathan Charkham (businessman and Sheriff of London ) and Moira Elizabeth Frances Salmon (daughter of Barnett Alfred and Molly Salmon). The Salmon family co-owned J. Lyons & Co. , which was Britain's largest food producer in the 1930s. She is the cousin of cookbook author Nigella Lawson and distantly related to environmental activist George Monbiot .

Shackleton attended the Benendon School in Kent . She originally wanted to become a doctor , but was discouraged because she felt that she was not smart enough to pursue such responsible work. Shackleton attended the University of Exeter , where she Jura studied. Since she only took an average exam, she first attended courses at the famous Cordon bleu cooking school and worked in catering before starting her training as a solicitor.

Career as a lawyer

After Shackleton graduated, she became an attorney with the law firm Farrer and Co, which also represented the royal family.

Her first big case was that of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson . Because of her success in this case, she was recommended to Prince Charles , whereupon she took over the divorce proceedings from Charles and Diana Spencer . She was also very successful and negotiated that Princess Diana had to give up her royal title and Prince Charles only had to pay 22 million euros in severance payment.

After the Paul Burrell affair , Shackleton's reputation at court is said to have suffered.

She also represented Paul McCartney in the divorce process with Heather Mills , in which she also achieved a success on behalf of McCartney.

She is currently representing Madonna in the divorce process with Guy Ritchie .

She is also still the lawyer for Prince Harry and William .

Life Peeress

On December 21, 2010 she was given the title Baroness Shackleton of Belgravia , of Belgravia in the City of Westminster , raised as a Life Peeress and has since held the associated seat in the House of Lords on the side of the Conservative Party .

Private life

Fiona is married to Ian Shackleton, a financial advisor, who is descended from Sir Ernest Shackleton . Shackleton lives with her husband and two daughters in Belgravia , which is one of the most expensive real estate locations in the world.
