First Blood is an American hardcore punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area that was founded in 2002 . It was named after the film of the same name, First Blood , which was released in the German version under the title Rambo .
history
First Blood was founded by Carl Schwartz and Doug Weber, who were both members of Terror at the time . Even before Carl Schwartz left his other band Terror, Trustkill Records offered him a contract, which he and First Blood only accepted in January 2006. Her current album Killafornia was released on May 2, 2006. In the summer of 2006, First Blood was on a European tour for the first time as the opening act for Agnostic Front .
In December 2006 Kyle Dixon announced that he would no longer be able to tour with First Blood but still want to support the band with their songwriting. Since Daniel Fletcher, the second guitarist, left the band, Manuel Peralez took over his position. Danny Payne (formerly Techie for My Chemical Romance and Panic! At the Disco ) was added on bass and Rhett Hornberger on drums.
The singer Carl Schwartz took over the position of the singer of Born from Pain in April 2007 and stayed in Europe for the time being. His successor was found after a short time and Carl Schwartz was able to concentrate on First Blood again.
style
The style of First Blood is strongly influenced by metallic so-called "Tough Guy" New School Hardcore , but also by many Metalcore or Metal borrowings.
At the e-zine Wasteofmind , the band's sound is described as follows:
“ Fast, barked vocals, brutal breakdowns, lots of mosh, lots of riff thunderstorms. "
The group is often compared to bands like Terror or the early Hatebreed .
