First Impressions of Earth is the third music album by the American rock band The Strokes . It was released in Germany on December 30, 2005, in the USA on January 3, 2006. The single Juicebox was released in advance . The album reached number 4 on the US Billboard charts with 88,000 copies sold. By October 2006, it was over 270,000 times over the counter. The English music magazine NME declared the album the eighth best album in 2006.

The band wanted the album, as well as the first album Is This It , to be produced by Gordon Raphael, but guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. introduced the band to Grammy winner and producer David Kahne , who henceforth worked with Raphael. However, this collaboration didn't work particularly well. Raphael got out and Kahne produced the majority of the album alone.

First Impressions of Earth is the band's first album to bear the Parental Advisory sticker.
