The Fischhofbrücke is located in the district town of Tirschenreuth ( Upper Palatinate ). With its ten yokes, it is modeled on the world-famous Stone Bridge in Regensburg . The bridge was built between 1748 and 1750 with a length of about 92 meters by the master builder and construction director of the Waldsassen monastery , Philipp Muttone in the time of Abbot Alexander Vogel .
In the center of the bridge are the statues of the Roman goddess of agriculture, marriage and death, Ceres , and the Roman goddess of justice and justice, Iustitia .
The Fischhofbrücke leads to the Fischhof , today's Tirschenreuth district court and seat of the bailiff . The building complex used to be a toe courtyard of the Waldsassen monastery, which, when Tirschenreuth was still surrounded by two man-made large ponds, was located on an island. The Mühlbach and Netzbach, two tributaries of the Waldnaab, flow under the bridge .
As part of the Small State Horticultural Show Nature in the City , the historic city pond was re-created by 2013 and the industrial wasteland was removed. The bridge is back in the water after more than 200 years.
