Wing is a location in the north of the Bergisch city of Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia .
Location and description
Flügel belongs to the district of Lüttringhausen and is located at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level directly on the city limits of Wuppertal - Ronsdorf . Neighboring villages / locations are Mühle , Desert , Halbach , Grüne , Neuland , Oelingrath and Langenhaus . Politically, the location belongs to Remscheid, but to Wuppertal postally .
In public transport , the town is served three to four times Monday to Friday by a citizen's bus.
The location already existed at the beginning of the 19th century.
economy
The outlying wing is strongly connected to the fireworks company Moog , founded in 1916 , which moved to Flügel in 1923, built extensive production facilities there and existed until April 1999. Today there is a single administrative and residential building as well as half a dozen production and storage buildings of the former company Moog & Niklas, some of which are still used by smaller companies in the pyrotechnic industry. These are mainly active in the area of sales and event design .
Furthermore, the Bilstein company has been located here for several years with around 50 employees, which, among other things, produces, repairs and rents Euro pallets and Euro box pallets.
