The Flagship Mountain ( English for flagship mountain ) is a 1720 m high mountain with a conical peak in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It towers over a large massif between the Northwind Glacier and the Atka Glacier in the Convoy Range .
The Northern New Zealand group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) named it after the USS Glacier , flagship of the US Union in McMurdo Sound between 1956 and 1957.
