Flavio Martínez Labiano

Flavio Martínez Labiano (born September 6, 1962 in Donostia-San Sebastián , Spain ) is a Spanish cameraman .

Life

Labiano began his training at the Instituto Oficial de Radio y Televisión in Madrid . He temporarily joined La Cuadrilla , a group of filmmakers founded in 1979 by Santiago Aguilar and Luis Guridi . With them he shot his debut film Pez and several other short films. Nine years later, he was also involved in the group's first feature film, Justino , as a cameraman and associate producer.

Labiano studied at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles , where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts . There he met the director Mariano Barroso , with whom he created the film My Soul Brother in 1994 . In 1996 Labiano was nominated for the Spanish film award Goya for his camera work in the horror thriller El día de la bestia . He has worked repeatedly with director Jaume Collet-Serra since the 2000s . This resulted in one of his most successful works, the action thriller Unknown Identity .
