Divion is a French municipality with 6978 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Béthune and the Canton of Auchel .

geography

The community lies on the rivers Biette and Lawe . Divion is surrounded by the neighboring communities Bruay-la-Buissière in the northeast, Houdain in the southeast, Beugin in the south, Ourton in the southwest, Camblain-Châtelain in the west and Calonne-Ricouart in the northwest.

The former national routes 41 and 341 run through the municipality .

Until its demise, Divion was an important mining community in the coal basin in northern France.
