Beuvry is a French municipality with 9442 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . It is part of the Artois Comm . Since 2015, Beuvry in the arrondissement of Béthune has been the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Beuvry , previously the municipality was part of the canton of Nœux-les-Mines .
geography
Beuvry is located about 35 kilometers southwest of Lille in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region . The town is a branch canal to the Canal d'Aire connected, the one in a chain of channels that have been developed for ships with a loading capacity of up to 3,000 tons Canal Dunkerque-Escaut forms.

From 1993 until the separation in 1997, the municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Béthune .
