Marles-les-Mines is located on the Clarence river . Surrounded Marles-les-Mines of the neighboring communities Lozinghem in the north, Lapugnoy in the Northeast, Bruay-la-Buissiere the southeast, Calonne-Ricouart in the southwest and Auchel in the West.
The station Vis-à-Marles is on the railway line of Fives ( Lille ) to Abbeville .
history
Due to mining in the coal basin in northern France, the community experienced a significant influx of Polish migrant workers in the 1920s and had almost 14,000 inhabitants.
