Hinges is a French commune with a population of 2,452 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . Hinges belongs to the arrondissement of Béthune and since 2015 to the canton of Beuvry (until 2015: canton of Béthune-Est ). The municipality is a member of the Béthune-Bruay municipal association , Artois-Lys Romane .

Hinges is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Calonne-sur-la-Lys in the north, Lestrem in the northeast, Locon in the east, Annezin in the south and southeast, Vendin-lès-Béthune in the south and southwest, Gonnehem in the west and Mont-Bernanchon in the northwest.

The Le Paradis massacre took place in April 1940 on the northeastern border of the municipality.
