Lapugnoy is a French municipality with 3459 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Béthune and the canton of Béthune and is a member of the Béthune-Bruay, Artois-Lys Romane community . The inhabitants are called Punéens .

geography

Lapugnoy is about five kilometers west of Béthune on the Clarence River . Lapugnoy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Allouagne in the north and northwest, Chocques in the north and northeast, Labeuvrière in the east, Bruay-la-Buissière in the south, Marles-les-Mines in the southwest and Lozinghem in the west.
