geography
The Canal d'Aire , a section of the large shipping route Dunkirk-Scheldt , runs along the southern edge of Givenchy-lès-la-Bassée . Givenchy-lès-la-Bassée, located eight kilometers east of Béthune , is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Festubert in the north and northwest, Violaines in the east and Cuinchy in the west.
