Locon ( Flemish : Lockon ) is a French municipality with 2465 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . Locon belongs to the Arrondissement of Béthune and since 2015 to the Canton of Beuvry (until 2015: Canton of Béthune-Est ). The municipality is a member of the Béthune-Bruay municipal association , Artois-Lys Romane . The inhabitants are called Loconois .
geography
Locon is in the Artois countryside . The river Lawe runs through the municipality . Locon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lestrem in the north, La Couture in the east and northeast, Beuvry in the southeast, Essars in the south, Annezin in the southwest and Hinges in the west.
