The Lawe is a river in France that runs largely in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region . It rises near Rocourt-en-l'Eau , in the municipality of Magnicourt-en-Comté , generally drains in a north-easterly direction and flows into the Leie after 41 kilometers at La Gorgue , in the northern department as a right tributary .

shipping

At Béthune it crosses the Canal d'Aire , a section of the large shipping route Dunkirk-Scheldt . The Lawe itself is canalised from the estuary to Béthune , but the locks are no longer preserved, so that this area can no longer be used for shipping today.
