Gauchin-Légal (also: Gauchin-le-gal ) is a French municipality with 321 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Béthune and the canton of Bruay-la-Buissière (until 2015: canton of Houdain ).

Gauchin-Légal is about 13 kilometers south-southwest of the city center of Béthune . Gauchin-Légal is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rebreuve-Ranchicourt in the north and north-west, Fresnicourt-le-Dolmen in the north and north-east, Estrée-Cauchy in the east, Caucourt in the south, Béthonsart in the south-west, Frévillers in the west and Hermin in the west and north-west.
