Flederbachschlössl

The Flederbachschlössl is a late medieval residence in Salzburg . It is located in the Parsch district on Rettenpacherstraße / Aigner Straße.

The Flederbach estate was first mentioned in a document in 1360. In 1407 it belonged to the Salzburg citizen Kaspar Lawbinger. The current building was erected in the middle of the 16th century by the Gastein tradesman Martin Strasser and has remained unchanged since then. From 1611 to 1652 the Schlössl was owned by the Salzburg Mayor Michael Paumann and then became the property of the Feyertag family. Vinzenz M. Süß (director of the Carolino Augusteum Museum ), Carl Freiherr von Hock , Josef Ritter von Romanko and Wilhelm Freiherr von Verschuer followed as further owners . In 1912 Heinrich Ferdinand von Habsburg-Lothringen bought the property; Since then it has belonged to the Habsburg-Tuscany family as private property and cannot be visited. Heinrich Ferdinand's grandson Ulrich Habsburg-Lothringen spent two school years here. In 1970 the English park was reduced in size for the construction of apartment blocks and partially sold.

Flederbach Castle has a shape typical of Salzburg country manors and contains typical elements of the late Gothic style . A compact building with four floors rises on a rectangular floor plan, which is framed at the corners by massive retaining walls. The corners of the steep hipped roof are emphasized by four small towers with a hexagonal floor plan and pyramid roof , as is customary for residences in the Inn and Salzach valleys. The rooms on the ground floor and first floor are largely vaulted ( barrels with stitch caps ), the flat ceilings of the upper floors are partially decorated with stucco frames.
