Fleet Foxes is an American band from Seattle . The quintet describes their music as “baroque harmonic pop jams”.
history
In 2006 the band gave their first small live concerts under the name Fleet Foxes . In her second year as a band, she played during an extended tour with folk rockers Blitzen Trapper in sold-out halls. In 2008 she was also a support act for Elbow and Wilco .
Her debut album Fleet Foxes was released in the US on June 3, 2008 on the Sub Pop label . In Europe it was relocated at Bella Union . The album received positive reviews in the specialist press after it was released. The band's style has been compared to the psychedelic pop music of the 1960s and 1970s, particularly formations such as The Byrds , Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Beach Boys .
In September 2010 singer Robin Pecknold announced that the recordings for the second album were completed. The new album called Helplessness Blues was released on April 29, 2011. The band was increased to six members for their second album, and new instruments such as zither , double bass and steel guitar are now expanding the soundscape. In the center of the songs, however, are still the polyphonic choral movements. The release of the new album was followed by a tour of the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Spain and Ireland. The third album Crack Up was released on June 16, 2017.
