Florian Gaag (* 1971 in Waldsassen ) is a German director and screenwriter.

Life

The son of the horn player Wolfgang Gaag ( German Brass ) grew up in Bamberg . When he was 13 years old, his family moved to Munich . He built a reputation for himself in the local graffiti scene and actively painted until the 1990s. After graduating from high school , he went to New York City to study film at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University between 1995 and 2000. In New York he worked on various short films such as Prelude , Greg's Cabin and Jack & Sterling . Back in Germany, he worked on the script for the film Wholetrain . After he had secured a big supporter with the editor Christian Cloos from ZDF “Das Kleine Fernsehspiel”, Goldkindfilm found himself as a production company for his first feature film. Wholetrain was filmed in Munich and Warsaw in 2004 and was released in German cinemas on October 5, 2006. Gaag not only wrote the script, directed and co-produced with his company Aerodynamic Film, he also produced the soundtrack, which he recorded in Germany and the USA. Florian Gaag lives in Munich and works on new projects in the film sector and as a music producer.
