Curse of the Falcon ( acronym : "FdF") is a German mystery series for children and young people . The first season is about six students who are stranded in a mysterious forest on the way back from a school trip. The first broadcast was on October 4, 2011. A second season was filmed from July 16, 2012 and was first broadcast from October 2 to December 21, 2012.

A third season aired from October 5 to December 21, 2014. In her six new young leading roles can be seen; From the previous cast, the main actors Annika Preil, Benjamin Holtschke, Hannes Liebmann and Mascha Müller are back.

A fourth and final season was broadcast from October 2, 2015 to October 31, 2015.

season 1

Curse of the Falcon is about six students who are prematurely on their way home from a school trip when their bus breaks down somewhere in no man's land and the bus driver disappears without a trace. Anna, Emily, Isabel, Costa, David and John soon notice that they can no longer leave the forest and that it is inhabited by strange people. To get back home, you have to solve their mystery first. They find out that they are stuck in a time hole .

season 2

The friends have found a way to leave the time gap. However, the attempt to escape fails and they end up in the forest again. Only two of the friends made it out of the time hole. A lot has changed in the forest in the meantime. Nothing is as it was before. More than half a year has passed. The adventure of young people is now taking on a whole new twist. An evil force (Silvana) has seized the forest and is trying to gain control of a mysterious crystal. But it is also who created the time gap from which the friends want to escape.

season 3

Six young people are invited to a talent casting at Randelstein Castle. The prize beckons the winner to have his lifelong dream come true. But it quickly turns out that there is a mysterious secret behind the jury and the self-proclaimed "Dream Academy". The candidates' dreams are a long way off, because they suddenly find themselves in a magical place from which they cannot escape, and are thus in the middle of the adventure of a lifetime.

Season 4

After the friends have freed the twelve-year-old magician Balos and converted him to goodness, they make their way home. Before that, however, Balos has to close the gate to the dangerous world of shadows. In order to master this mission successfully, the friends have to decipher an old magic ritual. A parallel world holds numerous dangers and puzzles in store for them.

Filming locations & crew

The first season of the series was filmed from May 30 to August 12, 2011 in and around Jetzendorf in Bavaria, including in the Jetzendorf Castle of the same name . It was produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) together with Tresor TV (producer: Holger Roost-Marcias ). The first season (2011) was directed by Kirim Luca Schiller and Wolfram Bremen. In the second season (2012) Nina Wolfrum and Kirim Luca Schiller, who was already the director of the first season. Axel Petrovan (DOP) and Uwe Neumeister were in charge of the camera in 2011. In the second season, Axel Petrovan (DOP) and his colleague Peter Berka were again in front of the camera. Lars Kremer has been the producer of the series since 2011. The cast has hardly changed. Til Schindler (David), Miriam Thurau (Laura), Thomas Piper (Konstantin) and Mirya Kalmuth (Daria) left the series after season 1. Mascha Müller (Silvana), Jörg Witte (Gabor) and Philip Weil (Finn) have joined the team.

The series was invented and written by Andreas Bütow and Kristian Wolff in collaboration with the responsible BR editor Ruprecht Joos.

From the third season (2014) Manja Wittmann took over as producer. Directed by Kirim Luca Schiller, Nina Wolfrum and Daniela Grieser. The third and fourth seasons were also filmed at the castle in Jetzendorf, Bavaria.
