The Antananarivo airport (also Ivato called) is an international airport north of the capital Antananarivo on the East African island nation of Madagascar .

Airport infrastructure

The airport has an asphalt runway (11/29) with a length of 3100 meters at an altitude of 1280 meters above sea level. The national airport company Air Madagascar has its aviation hub here .

Airlines

Antananarivo is not served directly from German-speaking countries. Air France flies via Paris-Charles de Gaulle , Corsairfly via Paris-Orly and the local Air Madagascar via Marseille and Paris Charles-de-Gaulle. Air Madagascar is the largest company with the most connections in Antananarivo. There are also connections to Réunion with Air Austral , to Mahé with Air Seychelles and with South African Airways and Interair South Africa to Johannesburg in South Africa. Turkish Airlines has been serving Antananarivo as a triangular flight together with Mauritius from Istanbul since December 2015 .
