The Catumbela Airport (IATA: CBT , ICAO: FNCT ) is on August 27, 2012 newly opened international airport near the town of Catumbela in the Angolan province of Benguela . Geographically, it lies exactly between the two larger cities of Benguela and Lobito and is considered an alternative to Luanda Airport .

Like all Angolan airports , Catumbela Airport is operated by the state-owned ENANA .

After the certificate of the Instituto Nacional da Aviação Civil (INAVIC) all common aircraft can take off and land there. In addition to domestic flight connections, flights are also planned abroad, to Namibia and Portugal .

The airport has a new passenger terminal, two gates that can handle four aircraft at the same time, and a 3700-meter runway in north-south direction directly on the South Atlantic . The installation cost a total of $ 250 million and was built by the Brazilian Odebrecht Group .
