The Changchun Longjia International Airport ( Chinese :长春龙嘉国际机场; traditional Chinese :長春龍嘉國際機場) is located in the administrative territory of the greater community Longjia (龙嘉镇) in the district Erdao the city of Changchun in the Chinese province of Jilin . The airport is 31 km from downtown Changchun. The city shares the airport with the city of Jilin, 71 km away . The airport was opened for construction in 1998 and opened on August 26, 2005 as the successor to Changchun-Dafangshen Airport . In October 2005, the airport also took over the passenger traffic from Jilin Airport . The airport is expected to carry 3.2 million passengers per year by 2013.
