Shenzhen Airlines ( Chinese 深圳 航空 ) is a Chinese airline based in Shenzhen and based at Shenzhen Airport . It is a member of the Star Alliance aviation alliance .
history
Shenzhen Airlines was established in October 1992. The airline was co-founded by the government of Shenzhen with support from Air China, the Bank of China , the Overseas Chinese City Economic Development Corporation and the Shenzhen South Tongfa Industrial Corporation . Flight operations began on September 13, 1993.
Shenzhen Airlines holds 51% of the regional airline Kunpeng Airlines and also 51% of the shares in Jade Cargo International . This international cargo airline was founded in 2004 as a joint venture with Lufthansa Cargo (25%) and DEG (24%).
On June 10, 2005, Boeing handed over the first 737-900 to Shenzhen Airlines in Seattle .
In March 2010 it was announced that Air China would become the majority owner of the company by acquiring additional shares in Shenzhen Airlines.
Shenzhen Airlines joined the end of November 2012, the airline alliance Star Alliance at.

In addition to numerous destinations within the People's Republic of China , Shenzhen Airlines also serves a number of destinations in Asia . There are also codeshare agreements with Asiana Airlines and All Nippon Airways .
