The Rajshahi Airport , officially Shah Mokhdum Airport ( Bengali শাহ মখদুম বিমানবন্দর ) is a small domestic airport in Rajshahi on the western border of Bangladesh .

A total of 2847 passengers were handled in the 2012/13 period. There were no cargo flights. With these figures, the airport was in fourth place among the then five domestic airports in Bangladesh (after Jessore , Cox's Bazar , Saidpur , and before Barisal ).

The airport has a runway with a length of 1801 meters and a width of 30 meters made of asphalt concrete. Both landing directions are each equipped with precision approach glide angle lights. A rotating radio beacon with distance measuring equipment (identifier RAJ on 114.5 MHz) and an omnidirectional radio beacon (identifier RJ on 228 kHz) are used as navigation aids for the approach .

In February 2007, Biman Bangladesh Airlines , the only airline serving the airport, suspended its scheduled flights due to a lack of profitability. In April 2015, flight operations were resumed after an eight-year break.

The airport is currently served by two airlines: US Bangla Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines . On average, there is a maximum of one departure per day (as of 02/2016). The only destination airport is Dhaka Airport, 192 kilometers away .
