The Sendai Airport ( Jap. 仙台空港 , Sendai Kuko ) is a commercial airport south of town Sendai in the administrative area of the cities Natori and Iwanuma . The airport has two terminals, one international and one for national destinations. The airport Sendai applies to the Japanese legislation as airport 2nd class .
A railway line to the airport, the Sendai Airport Line ( 仙台 空港 ア ク セ ス 線 , Sendai Kūkō akusesu sen ), was opened on March 18, 2007 and connects the airport with the city center in around 25 minutes.
On 11 March 2011, the airport was Sendai during the Tohoku earthquake of a tsunami flooded and was therefore suspended until 13 April 2011 for commercial flights after again could land and take off as early as March 17 military transport aircraft.
Airfield features
The tower (TWR) sends and receives on the frequency : 118.7 MHz and 126.2 MHz. The airport has various navigation aids. The rotating radio beacon (VOR) transmits on frequency : 116.3 MHz with the identifier: SDE . A distance measuring equipment (DME) is present. The location denial is 7 ° west. (Status: 2006)
