The bee farm airfield is a special airfield in Brandenburg around 2 km east of Paulinenaue and around 30 km west of Berlin. The airfield with the thematic focus on "historic aircraft" is mainly used by powered aircraft, microlight aircraft and motor gliders, occasionally also by balloons, helicopters and parachutists.

history

The bee farm airfield is an old agricultural airfield , which was taken over by the Helm flight school from Hof / Bavaria after the fall of the Wall. It was successful in the area and very soon built a workshop, a hangar and other infrastructure. After the construction of a modern building with a restaurant, flight school, apartment and office, the school got into financial difficulties; the owner of the field changed again at the turn of the millennium and in October 2017 the airfield was taken over by a group of Quax members. The new owners are expanding the airfield into a special location for classic car aviation. To this end, a new hangar that has been planned for a long time will be built in 2020. From September 2020, the 1800 square meter large, wooden hall will offer space for over 20 historical aircraft, which will be made accessible to the interested public as a regularly changing exhibition.

The Berlin-Brandenburg flight school, which operates aircraft such as the Cessna 172SP with Garmin 1000, American Champion, Grob 115 D and a Fuji 200, is also located at the Bienenfarm airfield.

Vintage aviation

The Quax-Oldtimerverein has been firmly established at the bee farm for many years and has been operating it since 2018. There are 10 to 15 oldtimers stationed in the bee farm.

For example, the following specimens are currently in the bee farm:

There are also changing patterns from the Quax club's fleet.
