The airfield Locktow is a special airfield in Potsdam-Mittelmark . It is approved for gliders , motor gliders and microlight aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to 450 kg.
Incidents
On April 5, 2009, a Remos GX microlight took off on a sightseeing flight. The pilot flew to the village of Wüstemark at a height of about 50 meters, circled the property of his friend and then sank abeam the western border to about 10 meters. After flying over the village road, the pilot went into a climb with a right bank angle. At a height of 40 to 50 meters, the aircraft tilted to the right and hit the property line of the fenced-in house of an acquaintance of the pilot almost vertically. The 68-year-old pilot was fatally injured in the crash and the aircraft was completely destroyed.
