The Pasewalk airfield ( ICAO : EDCV ) is located in the area of the city of Pasewalk in the Franzfelde district, about three kilometers west of Pasewalk, directly on the federal highways 104 and 109 . It is classified as a special landing site .
Pasewalk Airfield was built in 1957 for the local air sports club. In 1991 it was bought by the air sports club "Die Ueckerfalken" eV from the state property of the Treuhandanstalt . More extensive renovations have been carried out since 2000 and finally in 2001 a 900 meter long asphalt runway parallel to the grass runway was put into operation.
In 2006, a competence center for aircraft development and aircraft construction was opened next to the airfield, in which the aircraft manufacturer Remos AG settled and in whose factory in the halls of the competence center today ultralight aircraft such as the Remos GX are built.
Currently, the runway is mainly used by the air sports club and the competence center. Aviation championships are occasionally held on the site. The flight and airspace monitoring is carried out from a tower, which is located on the premises of the air sports club. Plans to expand the asphalt runway to 1,200 meters and equip it with lights and an electronic landing aid have not yet been implemented.
