Fomitiporia is a genus of fungus from the family of the bristle disk relatives (Hymenochaetaceae), which was separated from the fire sponges in the narrower sense ( Phellinus s. Str. ).
The type species is Fomitiporia langloisii .
features
Macroscopic features
The hymenophore of the wood dweller is flat on the substrate, perennial, inseparable and stiff. The thin context is brown. The layered tubes are also brown, usually thick-walled and with entire margins.
Microscopic features
The rounded to elliptical spores are smooth and colorless. The hyphae are usually brown in color. Cystidia are sometimes present.
