Foreign Policy Ranking

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Foreign Policy (FP) Ranking is a ranking of the world's best master's programs in international relations . It is published every two years by the journal Foreign Policy (FP) and is based on research by the Institute of Theory and Practice of International Relations at the College of William & Mary , which surveys academics and practitioners around the world about the five best Masters programs in International Relations. It is the only ranking for IB master’s courses and is therefore of relatively high importance, especially in the Anglo-American region.

At the beginning of the ranking, the first five places were always occupied by the so-called "big five" ( Georgetown School of Foreign Service , Johns Hopkins SAIS , Harvard Kennedy School , Fletcher School and Columbia SIPA ), with Georgetown University and Johns Hopkins SAIS alternate regularly at the top. Stanford University was later able to join this group. The high-ranking American schools are all so-called professional schools , which enjoy a certain degree of independence and provide their students with targeted practical training in the fields of international relations (political science, law, economics).
