In the TT-F2 class, four-stroke engines from 400 to 600 cm³ and two-stroke engines from 250 to 350 cm³ were allowed.
In the TT-F3 class, four-stroke engines with a displacement of 200 to 400 cm³ and two-stroke engines with a displacement of 125 to 250 cm³ were allowed.
For the first time in the history of Formula TT, the series consisted of two races. In addition to the Isle of Man TT , the Ulster Grand Prix was also part of the world championship.
