The Foron is a river in the Western Alps that runs in the border area between France and Switzerland . It rises under the name Ruisseau du Coudray in the area of ​​the French municipality of Bons-en-Chablais , initially drains in a northerly direction, but then turns to the southwest, in the lower reaches largely forms the borderline with Switzerland and flows after 22 kilometers between the French municipality of Gaillard and the Swiss municipality of Thônex as a right tributary to the Arve .
