The iris forrestii ( Iris forrestii ) is a plant of the genus Iris ( Iris ) within the family of the Iridaceae (Iridaceae). It is named after George Forrest (1873–1932).

The Forrest Iris is a perennial herbaceous plant that forms a rhizome nest and reaches heights of growth of 35 to 40 (rarely 20 to 50) centimeters. The leaves are shorter than the stem . They are reed-like, gray-green on one side and shiny green on the other. The flowers are 5 to 6 centimeters in diameter and yellow. The standards are obliquely upright. The hanging leaves have a red-brown veining. The plate is egg-shaped.
The flowering period extends from May to June.
Occurrence
The Forrest Iris occurs in south-west China in north Yunnan, south-west Sichuan and south-east Tibet as well as in north Myanmar . The species grows in swamp meadows and jungle edges at altitudes of 2750 to 3600 meters.

The Forrest Iris is rarely used as an ornamental plant for natural gardens and pond edges. It has been in culture since around 1910.
