Forsthaus Semmelei is a residential area in the Freidorf district of the municipality of Halbe in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .

Geographical location

The residential area is south-west of the community center and there north of the Freidorf district. It borders with it in the west on Radeland and Dornswalde (both districts of Baruth / Mark ), in the south on Staakow (a district of Rietzneuendorf-Staakow ) and in the southeast on Briesen and in the east on Oderin - also districts of Halbe. Most of the area is forested. North of the crosses Moorkultur ditch the living area, south-west lies the Schmolsee , south of Schäfersee . History and etymology

In 1706 there was a pitch furnace with a Picher , which was described as belonging to “ Teurow ”, and therefore belonged to the Teurow estate. 1718, the furnace entered the reign of King Wusterhausen that it in 1725 to the Teerschweler Martin Semmler from / Baruth Mark leased. In 1745 this tar furnace and a Picher were mentioned again. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1774 as Semmeley with a tar oven near Freidorf.

In 1801 a forester's house was built with two lodgers ; there were three fireplaces (= households). In 1840 there were four houses, the forester's house and a leasehold. In 1860 a colony was built with three residential and eight farm buildings, including the tar stove. The forester's house Semmelei with a residential and three farm buildings was connected to it. The colony cultivated 53 acres of arable land, 30 acres of meadow and five acres of garden land. Another four acres were cultivated by homesteads. In 1874 the chief forester's office was established in Staakow. For this purpose, the protection districts of Staakow, Freidorf, Massow and the bread rolls of the Hammer Forest District and the Brand dairies of the Klein Wasserburg Forest District were dissolved. A short time later emerged in 1882 from the hunting 71a, 72 and 167 of the Forest District Staakow and by separating the forester's Hammer, the new Forstgutsbezirk Semmelei 1-70.

In 1929 the Semmelei manor district was dissolved. Some areas went to the municipalities of Staakow, Freidorf, Tornow, Neuendorf and Teurow. The remaining areas were merged with other areas from the manor district of Königs Wusterhausen Forest, Hammerschen Heide and Staakow to form one manor district of Wusterhausen Heide. In 1932 the forester's house Semmelei became a residential area of ​​Freidorf. In 1973 the Semmelei district forester was established there.
