In the following year, it was put into operation as one of initially 60 and from 1836 61 stations on the line. The distance to the north-western neighboring station at Zündorf was 9.3 km, and that to the south-eastern neighboring station in Söven bei Geistingen was 8.6 km. The station was then in the area of the municipality of Sieglar .

The mast boom was attached to the observation room through which the telegraph arms were controlled. The station also had two telescopes for observation of the neighboring telegraph stations and a station clock ( Black Forest clock with striking mechanism).
At the end of 1852 the section of the telegraph between Cologne and Koblenz was discontinued after the completion of a more modern electromechanical telegraph on this route. The Troisdorf station lost its function and the mast tower was dismantled. The former observation room of the station was then used as a forester's house . 1885 was one of abode Forsthaus Telegraph four inhabitants.
