Frédéric Jean (born May 29, 1983 in Valence ) is a former French biathlete and today's biathlon trainer.

Frédéric Jean has been biathlon since 1998. Since 2000 he has been a member of the French national team. He lives in Les Rousses and started for Vercors Ski de Fond . In 2003 he took part in the Junior World Championships in Kościelisko and in 2004 in Haute-Maurienne , but was unable to achieve any noteworthy individual results, as was the case at the 2006 European Championships in Langdorf . In Langdorf, however, he reached a fifth place with the relay.

Jean started in the Junior European Cup in 2003/04 and in the European Cup since 2004. Since two third places in the sprint and pursuit in Altenberg in 2006, he was able to achieve several good placements there. He won races three times, in 2006 in the mass start and the pursuit in Gurnigel and in 2007 in an individual in Obertilliach . In the Biathlon World Cup , Jean has only played sporadically since his first appearance in the sprint of Pokljuka (68th) in the 2005/2006 season , the best result was a 41st place in the sprint of Antholz 2008.

In 2018, Frédéric Jean was appointed head coach of the French biathletes in the World Cup. He previously held this position in the IBU Cup.
