occupation

Frogs don't petzen is a German crime comedy produced by ARD from 2010 . The television film about industrial espionage in the field of solar energy was first broadcast on January 10, 2010.

action

Private detective Eddie Klever happened to be present when an attack on Heinz Malinowski was carried out at the airport. Naturally, he immediately feels called to investigate, especially since the seriously injured man has disappeared and the police do not believe him. The name Malinowski leads him to a fashion company that Heinz runs with his wife and that has it produced in developing countries. The company is in the red because Heinz has diverted money for a company called Aton and the construction of a solar park in Morocco.

In addition, Heinz and his brother Timo are running a (secret) research project to develop resistance-free power cables. These could conduct electricity from the Sahara to Europe without any loss. The market-dominating energy companies got wind of the discovery and have been fighting Aton for some time. In Mafia fashion, they try to bring the project to failure or to obtain the patent.

In the end the pressure becomes too great for Timo. His opponents found out the location of the research laboratory and he sells the patent to them. Some time later Eddie reads in the press that Heinz Malinowski was burned to death in a car accident in Morocco.

background

The film was partly shot in Berlin and Warnemünde .

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach positively highlights the “ highly telegenic locations ” and the good choice of the main actor as a popular figure. Both Tittelbach and David Denk from Süddeutsche.de describe the story as absurd.
