Francesco Musso (born August 22, 1937 in Port St. Louis , France ) is a retired Italian featherweight boxer.

amateur

In 1960 he became an amateur Italian champion. At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome , he was Olympic featherweight champion. He defeated it in the second round of the South Korean Soon-Chun Song , silver medalist in the bantamweight 1956. In the final, he prevailed against the Poland Jerzy Adamski .

professional

In the same year he began his professional career, which was very unspectacular. Musso won the first seventeen of his total of 26 fights. He only fought twice abroad: in 1963 in Finland against the later European champion Olli Mäki and in 1966 in Spain against Manuel Calvo , who also later won the European championship. Musso lost both fights. After the loss by disqualification in the sixth round against Manuel Calvo in Spain in 1966, he ended his boxing career.
