Rudi Fink

Rudi Fink (born July 6, 1958 in Cottbus ) is a former German amateur boxer and today's boxing trainer.

Career

Rudi Fink started boxing at the age of nine. In 1972 he came to the sports school in Frankfurt an der Oder . He was several times GDR junior bantamweight champion and in 1977, 1979 and 1980 GDR champion, and 1978 GDR runner-up in featherweight. In 1980 he won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Moscow under his coach Manfred Wolke . For this success he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver. After 180 fights, of which 155 wins, 5 draws and 10 losses, he ended his active career in 1981 and became a coach.

In 1993 he got a job as a national coach, but this was canceled shortly afterwards. Fink, who also completed a sports degree after his apprenticeship as a car mechanic, worked as a state-approved educator in Cottbus from 1994.

In January 2003 he visited his former coach Wolke on the occasion of his 60th birthday. He then made him the offer to join him as an assistant coach. Rudi Fink had held this position since May 1, 2003 and was responsible for Danilo Häußler , among others . In 2008 the employment relationship was terminated.

Rudi Fink is married and has one child.
