Francis Muthaura

Francis Kirimi Muthaura (born October 20, 1946 in Meru ) is a Kenyan civil servant and politician. He is the public service director and a close friend and advisor to President Mwai Kibaki .

Muthaura graduated from the University of Nairobi in 1972 in arts, economics and political science. He was then a year as Commissioner of the Mombasa District , Deputy Foreign Minister and later Head of the Kenyan Public Service.

On December 15, 2010, the International Criminal Court (ICC) received a subpoena concerning Francis Kirimi Muthaura from its chief prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo . If the application were to be accepted, it would have to appear before the court for crimes against humanity in connection with the riots in Kenya in 2007/2008 . He himself described the allegations as " nonsense ", " unfair " and " unjustified ". The lawsuit was withdrawn on March 11, 2013.
