Francis Patrick Carroll (Bishop, 1890)

Francis Patrick Carroll (born July 7, 1890 in Toronto , Canada , † February 25, 1967 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Calgary .

Life

Francis Patrick Carroll received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Toronto on June 2, 1917 .

Pope Pius XI appointed him Bishop of Calgary on December 19, 1935. The Archbishop of Toronto, James Charles McGuigan , ordained him episcopally on February 19 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were John Thomas Kidd , Bishop of London , and Joseph Anthony O'Sullivan , Bishop of Charlottetown .

He attended the first session of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On December 28, 1966, Pope Paul VI. resigned and appointed him titular bishop of Horrea .
