Peter Joseph Monahan

Peter Joseph Monahan (born May 4, 1882 in Saint-Lin-Laurentides , Québec , Canada , † May 6, 1947 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Regina .

Life

Peter Joseph Monahan studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at the Seminary in Québec . On July 4, 1909, he received the sacrament of ordination . Subsequently, Monahan taught at Joliette College .

On June 10, 1932, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Calgary . The apostolic delegate in Canada, Archbishop Andrea Cassulo , donated to him on August 10 of that year in North Bay , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Sault Sainte Marie , David Joseph Scollard , and the Bishop of London , John Thomas Kidd . The inauguration took place on August 18, 1932.

Pius XI. appointed him Archbishop of Regina on June 26, 1935. The inauguration took place on September 25 of the same year.
