Francis Xavier Muthappa

Francis Xavier Muthappa (born December 3, 1897 in Somanur , British India , † November 23, 1971 ) was Bishop of Coimbatore .

Life

Francis Xavier Muthappa received on 16 December 1923, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 25, 1949, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Coimbatore. The Archbishop of Pondicherry , Auguste-Siméon Colas MEP , donated him episcopal ordination on April 26, 1950 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Bangalore , Thomas Pothacamury , and the Bishop of Salem , Venmani Selvanather .

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.
